Topic 1:Circulation and flow structures in Pearl River Estuary

  • Contribution: A model based on FVCOM has been set up in the Pearl River Estuary, with resolution varied from 0.1km to 10km.
  • Significance: Inside the estuary, the kinetic energy and bottom shear stress are similar comparing wet season and dry season, while in the outer sea, they were significantly affected by the changing river discharge and wind stress.
