Academic qualifications

  • Ph.D. Candidate in Geotechnical Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, 2020 - now
  • Master in Civil Engineering, South China University of Technology, 2017 - 2020
  • Bachelor in Civil Engineering, South China University of Technology, 2013 - 2017

Research interests

  • Distributed fibre optic sensing application on geotechnical structures
  • Crack detection using OFDR

Topic 1:Measurement of Diaphragm Wall Deformation

Topic 2:Deep twin-circular excavation monitoring

  • Contribution: Investigation on the behaviour of deep twin-circular excavation, including the development of the vertical curvature, hoop force and circumferential bending moment.
  • Significance: The results provide a reference for the design and construction of similar circular excavations.

Topic 3:A novel approach to surface strain measurement for cylindrical rock specimens under uniaxial compression

  • Contribution: Application of distributed fibre optic sensing technology on surface strain measurement for cylindrical rock specimens subjected to uniaxial compression.
  • Significance: A novel approach to the detection of potential failure location and sequence of cylindrical rock specimens during loading and unloading.
