1、We have 5 Ph.D. graduates in PolyU this year. We wish them a bright future and continued success!

2、Congratulations to Dr. Lujia YU on receiving the Ringo Yu Prize for the Best PhD Thesis in Geotechnical Studies (2024/2025)，granted by HKIE.


3、Our team member Dr. Xi WANG received the PolyU Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship, and was selected as a candidate of JC STEM Early Career Research Fellowship of HK.


4、The 17th International Conference of the International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG 2025), organized by GeoInvention Team was successfully held at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from December 18 to 21, 2025.


5、Dr. Xianhui FENG was awarded as Hong Kong Scholar. A warm welcome to Dr. FENG as she joins the GeoInvention team.


6、Prof Jie YANG won the Scott Sloan Best Paper Award, titled “Analysis of suffusion in cohesionless soils with randomly distributed porosity and fines content.” published in 2023.


7、Mr. Ruidong LI, CEE PhD Student supervised by Prof. Zhen-Yu YIN, on receiving the “Best Poster Award” at the 10th International Conference on Discrete Element Methods (DEM10).


8、Congratulations to Dr. Weijian LIANG on his appointment as Professor at Shenzhen University, and Dr. Luyu WANG at Wuhan University.




9、The HEPM developed by Dr. Huangcheng FANG and Prof Zhenyu YIN has opened up new ideas and methods for computational mechanics.


10、Congratulations to Prof Zhenyu YIN on his appointment as Editor-in-Chief of International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics.
