Dr. Guang-Hua YANG is a professor-level seniorengineer, honorary president of Guangdong Institute of Water Resources and Hydropowel Guangdong Engineering Research.

Dr. Yang's research focuses on soil constitutive theory, deep foundation pits and slopes, and theresearch and design of foundation engineering. The title of his presentation is 'New Developmentsin Foundation Design Theory'.

This seminar reviews the speaker’s research work in the past lst 20 years in the determination of settlement bearing capacity of foundation.
